The Ekman Scholarship aims to encourage students to write their master theses on topics that focus on international business. Theses eligible for the scholarship shall discuss and apply relevant theoretical frameworks and models to one or more of the following areas:
Trade Finance
International trading
International trading houses
International Financing (export/import)
International Risk Management
Basel III and its effect on international business
Forest industry
International logistics
Commodity derivatives
Insurance solutions in international risk management
2. The Scholarship amounts to SEK 30 000 for 2012. If the master thesis has been written by two or more authors, the Prize shall be equally divided between all authors.
3. The Scholarship shall be awarded to the author(s) of the master thesis that in a meritorious way has shown how international trading can benefit from the application of financial theories or how innovative risk management can improve international business.
4. The Scholarship can only be awarded to students at the School of Business, Economics and Law at University of Gothenburg.
5. Students apply for the Scholarship directly to Ekman & Co AB by using the application form below. Please contact Viktor Brage, Finance, if questions arise (viktor.brage@ekmangroup.com).
Application along with a Thesis Abstract approved by the Graduate School at the School of Business, Economics and Law should be submitted to Ekman & Co AB no later than April 30.
6. Ekman & Co AB will make a first selection of 3 to 5 master theses based on the application and Thesis Abstracts. The Graduate School will provide Ekman & Co AB with the selected theses and information on grading as soon as available.
7. Ekman & Co AB will award the winner. The decision will be taken by a jury consisting of employees and board members at the Company. The jury shall provide a written motivation for its decision.
8. The Prize will be awarded at the end of the spring term in 2012.
9. If no thesis is deemed to fulfill the requirements set out above, no Prize will be awarded that year.
10. The requirements for this Prize can be altered by Ekman & Co AB.
