The Ekman International Trainee Program 2022

Ekman is a global sales and marketing organization strategically aligning buyers and sellers of forest products around the world. Ekman has around 300 employees in 40 offices worldwide and handles more than 4 million tons of forest products every year.

About the program
The Ekman International Trainee Program (“EITP”) offers a unique start to your career. For 12 months you will be involved in a combination of training sessions and hands on work within our international organisation. The purpose of the program is to ensure that we have competent employees and managers for key positions in the future. You will rapidly build your skills, network, and experience through a series of exciting, cross-divisional, and international assignments.

You will be employed from day one and one of our managers will be your main point of contact during the program. There will be three rotations and the EITP 2022 will be offered to five individuals who will rotate between departments at three or more Ekman offices during the program. Apart from the last three months where you prepare for your future position, the participants will undergo the same training sessions and worldwide rotation described below.

  • Finnish speaking Junior Sales Manager, Örebro, Sweden (Recovered Material Division)
  • Junior Sales Manager / Trader, Wall, NJ USA (Recovered Material Division)
  • Project Analyst, Gothenburg, Sweden (Innovare Division)
  • Junior Sales Manager, Appleton, WI USA (Pulp Division)
  • Junior Sales Manager, Cape Town, South Africa (Paper & Packaging Division)

General requirements
Your interpersonal skills, structured way of working and communicative approach are great assets in this job. You take initiative, prioritize, and respond well to changing demands from multiple sources, and you have a strong desire to learn and grow in your role and inspire continuous improvements. You are also a team player who easily interact and network with people in a global context. In addition, you have:

  • A relevant university degree
  • A flexible approach, eager to take on new challenges and willingness to relocate internationally during rotations within the program
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Up to 5 years of working experience

Previous international experience through studies or working abroad is considered a merit.
